Subject & learning outcomes
This module will provide you with the basic skills, knowledge and information to safely operate a Haul Truck.
Participants will be able to:
- Drive and operate a dump truck safely to the Metalliferous Mining unit MNMOLH306A Conduct Haul Truck Operations or Surface Coal Operations unit MNCO1014A Conduct Haul Truck Operations
- Loading and dumping
- Reversing under a loader/excavator
- Reversing off side and on side
- Work safely in a productive environment
- Advanced Simulator Training
Module details
- Identify the different types and sizes of haul trucks
- List factors, which add to and promote production efficiency
- Load, Haul & Dump
- Perform walk-around pre-inspections prior to starting the haul truck
- Select and use the required method for accessing the haul truck
- Perform checks of the haul truck after start-up
- Identify any and all safety factors necessary for haul truck operations
- OH&S Requirements
- Explain Duty of Care requirements
- Operating Techniques
Assessment methods are of written theory and practical observation. Therefore if you have any literacy problems please advise Immersive Operator Training staff at point of Application.
Favourable assessment outcomes from this training result in a Statement of Attainment in Partial Completion of a Certificate II in Metalliferous Mining (Open Cut) or Certificate II in Surface Coal Operations.
